Our mission is to enable consumers to enjoy their digital media on the widest possible range of devices and help them share what they've created with friends. Our flagship product, doubleTwist desktop, is a free application for sharing, enjoying and syncing personal media.

Twist me! is our Facebook application that acts like a media drop-box, enabling your friends to send you pictures, video and audio from your profile page right to you your desktop.

Twist me! also lets you share the love with your Facebook friends.

We plan to launch Twist me! on other social networks soon.

We are a venture funded start-up that was incubated in Oslo, Norway. The company was founded by Monique Farantzos and Jon Lech Johansen (aka DVD Jon). We recently moved back to San Francisco because we couldn't stomach the Norwegian winter.

No, doubleTwist is open to everyone. It just happens to work seamlessly with Facebook right out of the box.

No, but we recommend it because some features have been designed with iTunes users in mind. We plan to add support for other popular media players in future versions.

Not yet, but several of us are Mac users so it's a priority. We are looking for an additional full-time Cocoa developer to join our MacOS X team.

doubleTwist desktop will remain free indefinitely. We will be also adding certain premium features in upcoming releases.

For files sent through our Facebook application Twist me! there is a 10MB limit per file.

For files sent through doubleTwist desktop there is no strict file size limit. However, we limit the duration of sent videos to 10 minutes per video and the duration of sent audio to 90 minutes per audio file. We also resize the pictures you send to 800x600 pixels.

doubleTwist desktop makes it easy to invite your friends to join doubleTwist through Outlook and Facebook. Once your friends are using doubleTwist, sending them media is as easy as dragging & dropping the files you'd like to send.

Your friends will receive a notification that you've sent them files. They'll have two weeks to download the files you've sent them before they expire.

doubleTwist's "home" tab has a notification area that shows when you receive new files from friends. doubleTwist desktop automatically downloads files to your computer. You can then play or view files within the application.

doubleTwist lets you sync iTunes playlists (including the songs you’ve purchased) to a wide range of devices. In addition, doubleTwist supports many popular video formats so you can enjoy your media on your phone, PSP or video-capable MP3 player.

doubleTwist can automatically convert music you have purchased from the iTunes store to MP3, a universal format supported by all devices that play digital music. doubleTwist does not delete or move the original files.

You can only convert files that you have legally purchased and are authorized to play with iTunes.

You can also send media files directly from your device with your friends when you connect it via USB.
